Age 92, Jackson, passed away at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home May 24, 2019. He is survived by his wife; Lillian M., three children; Rhonda (Ed) Beeler, Randall P. Watson and Renee (Keith) Doty, four grandchildren; Erika (Elizabeth) Doty, Jessica Doty, Veronica Doty and Andrea (Chad) Blakely , two great-grandchildren; Brennon and Braxton Blakely, brother Gary Watson and two sisters; Peggy Crump and Pat Mendel. He was preceded in death by his grandson; LCPL Brent “Bayou” Beeler, USMC and nine siblings. Calvin served the nation in the US Navy during World War II aboard the light cruiser USS San Diego in the Pacific Theater of Operations, fibbing about his age to enlist. After his stint in the Navy he joined the US Army and served in Korea, eventually retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer (4). He then began a career with the Jackson City Police Department and worked there until his retirement. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home Monday, June 3, 2019 at noon with Rev. Larry Rubingh officiating. Veteran’s honors will be offered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 am until service time. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Jackson County Veterans Van Fund. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hospice Home for their compassion in this difficult time.
