Age 77, of Napoleon Township, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. Char blessed her family with an extra five years, valiantly and continually dealing with kidney and other medical conditions that nearly claimed her life in 2014. Her faith in God guided her daily –she was a silent warrior who fought and never complained. She is survived by her beloved family, her husband of 57 years, Donald R. Rodgers; son, Chad (Shawn) Rodgers; daughter, Wendy (Chris) Bush; grandsons, Brett Rodgers, Brenden Rodgers and Brady Bush; siblings, Clara Stone, Margaret (Phil) Milligan, Karon (Rick Fall), Ralph Sherwood (Pam) and Kirk (Cheryl) Sherwood; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Clara Sherwood; sister, Merilyn Sadzewicz and brother, Richard “Doc” Sherwood. Char enjoyed and loved the magic of the outdoors; gardening, bird watching, hunting, fishing, watching sports (especially her grandsons) but her greatest love was being a loyal and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother “Moomaw”, sister, Aunt, friend and neighbor. Her sweet, kind and gentle soul and caring ways will be missed by all who knew her, she was truly unique and one of a kind. A special heartfelt thank you to all of the dedicated care team at Henry Ford outpatient infusion clinic, Henry Ford hematology center and Fresenius dialysis clinic who loved and cared for our family. A service to celebrate and honor her life will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 5 to 8 pm.
