Doris enjoyed many things in life, but most important was family and especially the children. She loved doing arts and crafts and baking cookies with all the nieces, nephews and grandkids. She also enjoyed camping outdoors with the family. As the years went by she found great comfort in caring for all the backyard birds and wildlife. She had a way of turning a specially selected card into one of the most cherished gifts that one could receive. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Doris was a longtime member and Sunday School teacher at Vandercook Baptist Church and had a gift of quietly sharing the Word of God in her soft yet effective manner. The memorial service to honor her life will be held at Vandercook Baptist Church 703 E. McDevitt Ave., Jackson, MI 49203 on Saturday, November 2, 2019 beginning at 1:00 pm followed by fellowship until 4:00 pm. Interment at Roseland Memorial Gardens next to her husband has already taken place. For those who wish, contributions in memory of Doris may be given to Vandercook Baptist Church or Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home.
