Age 69, of Blackman Township, went home with her Lord and Savior on July 16, 2019 at the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home under the loving care of her family and the staff. She is survived by her devoted Schnauzer, Baxter; the loves of her life: fiance, David Molton and daughter, Deana Minder; her adored granddaughters, Madison, Romee and Quinn, and Anja, Brielle and Trianne; three step-children whom she loved as her own; step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Juanita Louise Lawrence, Sandy (Bob) Record, Jackie Murray and Kathy Tharp; her brothers, Lee Tharp and Rodney Ensley; many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; cousins; countless friends and three very special new family members, Michael Molton, and Angela and Grace Williams. Etta was preceded in death by her parents, Buford J. Tharp and Maxine L (Sterling) Ensley. She retired from the US Postal Service after 29 years of service as the “mail lady”. She enjoyed crafts, reading, watching the Hallmark Channel, and traveling. She absolutely loved her “sister trips”, every minute with her fiance Dave, and time she spent with her family and many friends. Etta was so full of life, joy and silliness. Everyone who knew her loved her and she fully loved them right back. She will be greatly missed. She belongs to Sandstone Congregational Church, Sandstone Dorcas Society and the American Legion Post #29 Auxiliary. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at Sandstone Congregational Church located at 250 S. Sandstone Rd. on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brad Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. There will not be a viewing as Etta’s wishes were cremation. Following the service, a luncheon will be provided in the fellowship hall of the church. Contributions in Etta’s memory will be directed to Cascades Humane Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
