Age 87, of Jackson, passed away at Henry Ford Allegiance Health November 6, 2018. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard H. Strang, three daughters: Deb (Ed) Churchill, Becky Weaver, and Nancy Strang, grandson; Jeremy (Grace) Churchill, two great grandsons; Harrison and Remington Churchill; step-grandson Marc (Sara) Churchill. She also is survived by her nieces and nephews; Gerry (Bob) Poeschel, Ron (Pattie) Esch, Jimmy Esch, Karen Jaurado, Billy Straka, David (Val) Straka, Cathy (Ken) Priest, Mike Brumley, several great nieces and nephews, and several great -great nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded by her parents, George and Elizabeth (nee-Derer) Straka, three brothers and three sisters- John (Aggie) Straka, Helen (Clem) Esch, Betty (Art) Norton, Kathryn Straka, August Straka and George Straka, son-in law Cory Weaver and beloved friend Norma Curey. She was also preceded by several aunts and uncles. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan June 20, 1931. Jean loved golfing and was a member of “Green Tee and Whiffers” golfing league since 1978, member of “Ladies Matinee’s” bowling league since 1977, painting, doing crossword puzzles, word search puzzles, playing cards, traveling, and family visits. Her greatest memories were when everyone was together at their cabin on Fife Lake, Michigan. Mrs. Strang has been cremated. A Memorial Service to honor her life will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 11 am at the Michigan Center Bible Church (150 Broad St., Michigan Center, MI 49254) with Pastor John Tovey officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 am until service time. After services there will be a luncheon at the church. Contributions in her memory are directed to the Church.
