Aged 87, of Michigan Center, passed away at her home, Friday, November 2, 2018 under the loving care of her family and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. She is survived by four children, Pamela (Daniel) McCave, Mark (Beverly) Herman, Paula (William) Placher and Peggy (Daniel) Goostrey; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren with another due in March and her sister-in-law, Virginia Stover. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harry in 2016; her parents Fayette and Hazel (Teeter) Wetzel; siblings, Jack Wetzel, Lee Wetzel, Marjorie Schutze and Mable Keen. She was known as “Momma Jean” to dozens of children that she baby-sat over the years. Jean retired after serving Leoni Township as Treasurer for five terms (20 years) and was member of the American Legion Rose City Post Ladies Auxiliary, the Michigan Center Lioness Club and the Clark Equipment Retirees Club. She was loved by all who knew her as she was a loving person to all of those she met. As was her request, donation has been made to the University of Michigan Medical School and no formal services will be held. Interment will take place at a later date at Fort Custer National Cemetery. For those who wish, contributions in her memory to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice, 100 E.
