Age 54, a lifelong resident of Clark Lake, passed away at his home on April 27, 2018. Scott is survived by his brother, Brad Adkins; nephew, Andrew Adkins, who he loved as a son; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ogden and Mary Ann (Ismon) Adkins. Scott was a 1982 graduate of Columbia Central High School and had a long time love for motorsports, both auto and snowmobile racing. In his early days with auto racing, he volunteered at the Butler Motor Speedway then for 18 years he traveled across the country to media events and all of the NASCAR tracks with show cars. Whether it was when Scott was the night manager at Bill’s IGA in Brooklyn or as a show car hauler for International Speedway Corporation / NASCAR, Scott truly cared for and enjoyed those with whom he worked. A celebration of Scott’s life will be held on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Michigan Room on the infield of Michigan International Speedway (enter through turn 1 tunnel). Food and refreshments will be provided. For those who wish, contributions in Scott’s memory to the American Heart Association or the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
