William Ray Warner

September 25, 1946 ~ August 23, 2019 (age 72)

Age 72, of Jackson, passed away at his home on Friday, August 23, 2019 under the loving care of his family and Elara Caring.  He fought a long battle with mesothelioma.  Bill is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Debra (Murphy); three children, Crissy (Paul) Cole, Trisha (Mike) Omo and Mariah Warner; nine grandchildren, Rebecca Warner, Tyler and Cody Omo, Cassie, MacKenzie, Jessica and Jackie Cole. Anna and Lillie Cornett,  many cousins and dear friends, especially, Bill Laimon and Nate Eggleston.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Patricia (Seckinger) Warner.  Bill was a 1965 graduate of Michigan Center High School.  He served in the Army Reserve from 1967 to 1973.  Bill had a long career with Consumers Energy with 35 years of service, retiring in 2004 then continuing on with them as a contract employee until October of 2018.  He served on the Michigan Center School Board and was a former Leoni Township Trustee; was past member of the Three Horse Club.  Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and most especially time spent with his family.  Cremation has taken place and a time to gather and share memories will be held at Arthur-Day Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  Military Honors will be rendered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team.  Bill’s family would like to thank his caregivers from Elara Caring, especially his nurse Tracey, for their kind and compassionate care given to him.
