Age 80, of Blackman Township, passed away at her home on April 28, 2021 with her family at her side and under the wonderful care of Careline Hospice.
Born in Gage, Kentucky, she settled in Michigan where she met and married Robert Jones and they spent 32 years together. She worked at Eaton Aeroquip for over 30 years prior to retiring. She enjoyed being with family and friends, reading, yard work and volunteering at various food banks. She loved spending cuddle-time with her dogs Herky and Hemi, and her fat-cat TJ. Visiting the UP each fall to see the colors was one of her favorite things to do. Her door was always open, everyone was welcome, and she would happily greet you with a smile to come in and spend as much time as you wanted. She fostered many kids with that open-door policy and touched many lives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Carpenter and Florence Horn; her husband, Robert Duncan; and her daughter, Sue Ann Jones. Survivors include her brothers, Sonny (Liz) Carpenter and Donald Carpenter; sisters, Peggy Bause, Judy Cole and Merle “Tootie” (Dale) Kreh; her daughters, Vickey Jones, Tina (Jeff) Wolf, Lee Ann (Clay) Davis, Carol (Craig) Ressler, Ann (Bruce) Jones and Kathy (Ronnie) Delamater; her step-children, Robert (Shelly) Duncan, Thomas(Kim) Duncan, Catherine (Michael) Andrews, Gary Duncan and Susan (Edward) Whitney; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many other beloved family members and close friends.
Family and friends may pay their respects at Arthur-Day Funeral Home on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 11 am to 1 pm with current Covid guidelines of limited capacity and required masking for attendees. At 1 pm, private family services will be held with Reverend Melvin Hicks officiating. She will be interred privately at Oak Grove Cemetery in Napoleon.
