Age 78, of Parma, passed away at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital on Friday, September 25, 2020. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Sharen L. (Tucker) Marshall; they wed on September 25, 1961. He also leaves behind two children, Mark (Maria) Marshall of Michigan Center and Penny Lynn Marshall of Jackson; four grandchildren, Jeremy and Joshua Marshall, Nickolas and Christopher Canada; five great-grandchildren; his sister, Lucille Hood; nephew, nieces and cousins. Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Marshall and his parents, Edward and Marjorie (Cochrane) Marshall. He was a 1960 graduate of Michigan Center High School. He was a mechanic by trade, following in the footsteps of his father, and worked for a few automotive garages but most of his time was with Tansky Oldsmobile and his last 20 years before retirement was with Perfection Bakeries. Chuck had a love for horses. He raced a sulky with ponies and was a member of the Jackson Pony Trotting Club. Over the years, Chuck showed horses with 4-H where he had State 4-H Champion in Western Confirmation, later he taught horse as a 4-H Leader. He was a fan of stock car racing from NASCAR and MIS to Butler Motor Speedway. He and Sharen enjoyed camping and had been members of both the Lansing Capitol Dalmation Club and Jacksonites Club. Other outdoor activities were putting on hay rides and canoe ventures around Michigan’s rivers, the Rifle River being a favorite. Time with family and friends and playing practical jokes (he had a wonderful dry sense of humor) were what brought great joy to Chuck’s life. Cremation has taken place and a time with refreshment and to share stories will be held at Parma Masonic Hall, 100 W. Main Street in Parma from 2 to 5 pm on Saturday, October 10, 2020.
