Darrell was born, raised and lived his entire life in Jackson. He was a 1962 graduate of East Jackson High School, where he was known as “Four Speed” by all his friends. His passion was racing, rebuilding wrecked cars, and building street rods. He was forever helping someone in need – especially the young ladies! Darrell worked most his adult life for Crankshaft Machine Company, where he acquired a lot of his dear friends. More recently, he owned & operated the Napoleon Airport Plaza.
To all his friends, we know how much he loved all of you... and Kirk wants to personally let you all know how much he loves you all as well.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, August 16, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Due to the COVID situation and restrictions, the family would appreciate everyone keeping their visit brief. There is an outdoor patio area where people can gather and chat.
Graveside Services will be held at Napoleon Oak Grove Cemetery, Monday August 17, at 11 am with Pastor Larry Rubingh officiating.
Contributions in Darrell’s memory are directed to the Wounded Warriors Fund. Darrell was never in the military, but he was awful proud of his son’s service in the Marines.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date when we can all get together and tell stories about Darrell’s shenanigans (which could take a LONG time).
