Age 82, of Jackson, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 under the loving care of her family and Henry Ford Home Hospice. She was born on October 20, 1939, the daughter of Merle S. and Frances E. (Palmer) Campbell who preceded her in death, also preceded by her son, Christopher Allen Wellington on May 4, 2022 and siblings, Patricia Ann Clark and Richard Bruce Campbell.
Jacquelyn is survived by her daughter, Shannon Elizabeth Wellington (Mark Oliver); daughter-in-law, Coby Anne Wellington; all of Jackson; grandchildren, Blake (Tessa) Simmons of Parma, Sage (David) Sommerville of Battle Creek and Devon Wellington of Jackson; great-grandchildren, Nirvana Simmons, Kamaree McNutt and Laiana Sommerville; nieces and nephews, Bruce Clark, Mike (Jeanette) Clark, Lynn (Eric Geiner) Clark-Geiner, Richard (Nancy) Campbell, Patrick (Doreen) Campbell, Carol Lee Pease, Cheryl Napier (Jed Bayles), Jim (Carol) Wellington and Linda (Dave) Keller.
Jacquelyn graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and earned her Hygienist Certification through the Western Michigan University Dental Program. She worked in the dental clinic and other positions for the Veterans Administration for over 40 years. In her youth, she enjoyed roller skating, something she passed on to her children. She loved to dance and work on beautifying her yard. Her greatest love was her family, each and every one of them and she was loved by each of them in return.
A service to celebrate the life of Jacquelyn and her son Christopher will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 1:00 pm from the Jackson Free Methodist Church, 2829 Park Drive, Jackson, MI 49203. Visitation will begin at noon and a luncheon will follow the services.
