Age 76, of Michigan Center, formerly of Napoleon, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 5, 2021. Mitch is survived by two sons, Justin Mitchell (Kari) and Chris Mitchell (Darcie); two grandchildren, Cruz and Adley; girlfriend, Sandy Chieffi and brother-in-law, Perry Boring. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sadie Mitchell and sister, Nancy Boring.
Born at Latrobe, Pennsylvania, his family moved Plymouth, MI when Mitch was young. After graduation from Plymouth High School, he began his career with United Parcel Service as a delivery driver. He moved up to management with UPS and retired in 1985 after Managing the Little Rock, Arkansas Center. While in Arkansas, he had a car company called Corvettes and Classics and was a salesman/distributor with the Cornwell Tool Company.
In 1989, Mitch and his family moved to Napoleon where he built the Choo Choo Foods Shell Station in Grass Lake, now Mobil. He also took a big part in the Whistlestop Park Association that restored the Grass Lake Train Depot. He then continued in sales at several area Chevrolet Dealerships before his final retirement from Town and Country Harley-Davidson.
Mitch enjoyed classic cars and loved restoring and operating his “S” gauge trains.
As was his request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
