Of Jackson, passed away peacefully at her home on December 23, 2020 at the age of 83. Karen was born to Mary (maiden-Squires) and Paul Earl in Monroe, Mi. Karen was preceded in death by both her parents, her sister Sandra, her beloved Nana, her grandson Cullen, and her great granddaughter Amanda. Karen is survived by her husband of 43 years, David, and many children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren: children; Larry (Sue) Rodgers, John (Pam) Kujawa, Paula Kujawa, and Jim (Marilyn) Kujawa, grandchildren Jennifer (William) Fulmerhouser, Janelle (Dean) Hoopes, Jordan Kujawa and Kyle Kujawa, great grandchildren; Nathaniel Martin, Cody Breslin, Shon Breslin, and Dennis Slawinski Jr. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Karen spent 8 years as a teacher at Our Lady of Fatima. In 1971, Karen completed her Masters Degree in Social Work from University of Michigan. For many years she was the Principal Social Worker at Catholic Charites, where she mentored many social workers. After retiring from Catholic Charities, Karen spent 30 years in private practice working alongside her husband, facilitating marriage workshops and providing marriage counseling.
Karen was highly active at every stage of her life. She enjoyed vacations in the Colorado Rockies, including ski trips with numerous family members. For 30 years Karen studied the martial art form of Judo. She attained her 4th degree Black Belt at the age of 70.
The family would like to especially thank Michael and Tonie Kukulka for their kindness and support to Karen and David over the past 10 years.
Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
Her family would appreciate and direct any Memorial Donations being made to David’s Promise, Compassionate Ministries of Jackson County, in honor of Karen DuPage.
