Age 90, of Vandercook Lake, was reunited with his beloved wife of 68 years, Arlene, on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. The couple married on January 20, 1951 and lived a simple, but fulfilling life, dedicated to their family.
Ken was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict Era and went on to have a career with General Products. Throughout the years, he had several hobbies and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and euchre. Ken was also a big Michigan Wolverines fan and was known for his love of the Detroit Tigers - he never missed a game.
Ken is survived by his 5 children, Ken (Ruth) Stoddard Jr. and Doug (Katie) Stoddard Sr. of Vandercook Lake, Linda (Mike) Gwinn of Horton, Wendy (Cary) Tripp and Mark (Kay) Stoddard of Vandercook Lake; 12 grandchildren, Tiffany (Jeff), Becky (Tony), Jason, Doug Jr. (Wendy), Kathie, Amy (Devin), Andy (Alisha), Ryan (Olivia), Heather (Bryan), Nikki (Ben), Melanie (Brian), and Megan (Chris); 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Arlene; parents, Hallett K. and Beatrice M. (Walton) Stoddard and sister, Evelyn Pederson.
Ken was a loving and caring husband, dad, grandpa, friend, and will be truly missed. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, 122 S. Wesley St., Jackson, MI 49201 where a memorial service to honor his life will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kurt Lambart officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Visitation will begin at the church at 10:00 am. For those who wish, contributions in Ken’s memory may be given to his church.
