She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Rex H.; parents, Gearold and Marcella Johnson; sister, Dorothy; brother, Jerry; son, Mark; daughter, Kim.
Born February 7, 1932 in St. Marys, Ohio. She moved to Michigan Center in 1942.
Married to Rex H. Mann February 5, 1949
Virginia was employed at the Felt Factory, Fields Department Store, Hope House and Fowler House in Jackson.
She was a Michigan Center Lioness for 40 plus years and belonged to several other clubs.
Later in life she volunteered at the Hope House and Fowler House and once a month at the Interfaith Shelter.
She was very artistic and crafty - a great seamstress and loved cooking and baking for our large family gatherings and for the many functions that she was involved with. Mom had flowers all over the yard and grew tomatoes and herbs; she loved antiquing and going to the October Fest in Ohio near where she was born.
She was still doing craft projects with the nurses and her friends while in Hospice! She enjoyed playing cards, card games and dominos. Virginia and Rex loved traveling later in life in their camper.
Virginia lover her family and friends; she was a great daughter, sister, wife, mom, aunt, grandma and friend to many.
In the months that she lived in the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home, she received great care - she said many times that she couldn’t have gotten better care. She loved them and they loved her. She was a trooper and able to go to dinner with a friend weekly and long drives and dinner with our cousins and her grandson, Jody.
*David, Paula and Kris are very thankful for Sue, Tim and Ginni Fry of Jackson who were always there for their Beloved Aunt. We are also thankful for Family and Friends that visited her. The staff, nurses, doctors, cook and volunteers at the Hospice Home were wonderful and took great care of her.
