Age 20, of Grass Lake Township, passed away July 17, 2021. He is survived by his mother; Amy (Lance) Satterthwaite and father; William Richie (Lisa) Mays Sr., siblings; Ryli (Ryan) Mays, Hunter and Jordan Satterthwaite, Jarred (Arzu) Poulson, Alyssa Poulson, Mason Poulson, Brayden Jarvis-Echols, Evan Echols and Gage Echols Grandparents; Delores Mays, Rodger and Jody Watson and Ron and Jean Satterthwaite. Aunts and uncles; Rodney (Janelle) Watson (and son River), Holly Mays, Kadjo Mays, (and son Bentley), Mandy Mays (and daughter Kennedy), Tina (Don) Curl, and life long friend Jake Haskell as well as several other very close friends, several other cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather William Paul Mays, his great Grandma “Big Grandma” and his child hood dog Dipsy. Richie was a 2020 graduate of Michigan Center High School where he played on the Football, Basketball and Track teams. Richie was the heart and soul of his family as well as many others, he would do anything for anyone, even those he didn’t know. He had blue eyes that lit up a room and dance moves like no other. If you knew Richie you knew he was the biggest Grandmas boy ever and did no wrong. He loved to hang out with his friends, work out at the gym, helping others whenever needed and fishing. He enjoyed day trading stocks and was a die-hard Detroit Lions fan. Services will be held Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11:00 am at Michigan Center High School with Rev. Larry Rubingh officiating. Visitation will be held at the high school Wednesday, July 21, 2021 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Friday from 10:30 until service time. The family would appreciate any Memorial Contributions be made to the Michigan Center Cardinal Club.
